(The Crawlspace geocities website is currently out of action, so you can access the article directly from the above link. )
So there I was at Merriam-Webster online, looking up the word censorship, because I'm more than a little sure that a censorship is not a big floating boat that zooms around blocking freedom of speech (I thank Piers Anthony for that lovely definition), when I came across a far more terrifying definition of the word. A definition that filled me with an insidious dread, because unlike the traditional meaning of censorship that clearly states granny must never wear leather pants and bop to Metallica, this definition is not the first thing I think of when pondering censorship. The exclusion from consciousness by the psychic censor.

A pyschic sensor!!! I'd never heard of such a thing, but you did such a fab job in this article of explaining in a manner that made sense and fully injected it with your notorious humor.
Foil cap. LOL!
Loved the explanation of ego, superego and id (or in my case ego, wussy ego and super id ). It was all quite enlightening. Though I'm still not sure how I feel about the dream scrambling, 'cause I'm guessing it scrambles everything - not just wants and desires. But I suppose it's more interesting to dream about driving a monster truck through ever deepening snow and end up dragging the truck up a tree by a string, then it is to have a dream about someone telling you ya feel like your in an uphill battle, but doggone it you're not going to persevere. Just as a random example.
*whistles nonchalantly*
As for the writing?
You had me at "So", Roon.

'Interesting' is not a suitably large enough word. Neither is 'wow'. Informative. Interesting. Well written. Taking a very difficult topic and making it easy to understand. When you hit the part about the dreams and the 'censored' desires, I was practically ready to jump into my screen to absorb the information faster! That was totally awesome, and I totally love it!
Dreams have always confused me, you've given me a better insight, and cleared things up a little, and opened my mind to the world of information and dream analysis......

I never really thought about this much, but now I wonder where the hell is my ego, cause my id still wins every chocolate battle.
Anyway I agree with my fellow reviewers, interesting and a difficult topic made more understandable.

And so here is my brief career as the Rosetta stone to Freud's theories.
This article works well as a Rosetta Stone or Babel fish to explain exactly what the hell they are babbling about in the psychology books. Nicely accessible, wildly entertaining and really informative!!
All of this makes me wonder whether the babysitters are on strike a lot of the time..cause I know my mind's censors aren't doing their job at all properly!!
Thank you for a good read and laugh!!
